PM slams Cong in Parliament |
In a hard hitting speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on thursday said “India has been progressing in all sectors in the last four and half years and defended his government`s achievements. He launched a strong attack on the Congress party and the Opposition and described his tenure as “55 months of service to the nation” against “55 years of enjoyment of power of the Congress”. Replying to the Motion of Thanks on the President`s Address in the Lok Sabha, Modi said his government is accountable to the people of the country and hit out at the Congress over its accusation on Rafale deal saying it does not want the Indian Air Force to be strong. He dubbed emerging and newfound Opposition unity as “maha-milawat gathbandhan” or an “adulterated alliance”. The Prime Minister lashed out at the Congress on various issues and emphatically denied its charge of destroying the constitutional institutions. The Congress should look within as to how it had undermined these institutions during its rule at the Centre, He, in a counter attack, said. Later the House adopted the President`s address negating the opposition amendments.
