Political impasse continues in Maharashtra |
Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena alliance which secured a comfortable majority in the October 21 assembly polls, are yet to start formal talks for thrashing out the power-sharing deal. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday in what is said to be a crucial visit that could shed light on the BJP`s attempts on government formation. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was hurt after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis denied “what had been already agreed on” between the two allies. Raut said “All that we are demanding is that they accept what has been agreed on.” Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut along with other senior party leaders are scheduled to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Monday evening. Raut has also said that he will request the governor to invite the single largest party to form the government in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party said its supremo Sharad Pawar will meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday.
