Prime Minister of Bhutan on India visit |
As the new Bhutanese Prime Minister`s first foreign state visit to India begins, it`s time now to take this relationship to the next level with India`s Closest and most reliable friend. Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotay Tshering arrived New Delhi on a three-day official visit to India. The visit takes place during the Golden Jubilee year of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale called on the visiting dignitary last evening. Dr Tshering was accorded ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan today. He paid homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr. Lotay Tshering will also call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu and Power Minister R K Singh are scheduled to call on the visiting dignitary. During PM Lotay Tshering`s India trip, Bhutan`s priority will be to negotiate a fair tariff for hydropower, expand trade ties with New Delhi.
