Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas chief made Chairman of trust |
Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas chief Nritya Gopal Das has been named as the chairman of the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Teerath Kshetra Trust. Also, former principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Nripendra Misra has been chosen as the chairman of the Ram Temple Complex Development Committee on Wednesday. These decisions were announced by Vishva Hindu Parishad`s vice-president Champat Rai, who was appointed the general secretary of the Trust. Das and Rai were invited as `special invitees` to the Trust`s meeting on Wednesday. The surprise appointment was that of the 74-year-old Nripendra Misra, who had stepped down as PM`s principal secretary last August after serving for over five years. As the chairman of the committee, Misra will have an active role in the development of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Misra was the personal secretary to the then UP chief minister Kalyan Singh in 1992 but was transferred as the Greater Noida chairman about two months before the Babri Masjid demolition. At the first meeting of the Trust, at the residence of trustee K Parasaran, a resolution was passed thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre and the UP government for their “positive role” in the Ram Temple matter.
