Saints, politicians support technology & innovation |
Clean water is available in India but is mostly used in household works and irrigation as it has no substitute. Organizations have been working tirelessly to workout how to make available sources of clean water and making it available for drinking. One such initiative in Uttarakhand`s Rishikesh saw the day of light with the inauguration of a 50 KLD Decentralised Portable Magnised Wastewater Treatment Plant, by the chief minister of the state of Uttarakhand, Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat. This is the first of its kind treatment system using a four part treatment technology to treat wastewater into potable water which would be reused for irrigation, gardening, laundry and other domestic daily usage, saving gallons of water. The four part treatment approach uses the Anoxic Chamber for denitrification of the effluent, secondly the PMTR chamber which provides bacteria that helps to decompose all organic material present in the wastewater. A Dual Media Filter which removes turbidity and suspended solids as low as 10-20 microns. The last part of the process uses UV water purification which removes harmful pathogens and bacteria from the water.
