The big Indian Diaspora from across America gathered in the NRG Football stadium in Houston Texas to attend the Howdy, Modi event on Sunday. From cultural programmes to yoga practice, the 5 hour long event had it all. But nothing could beat the deafening welcome to Indian prime minister Narendra Modi as he entered the stage waving to the huge sea of attendees at the stadium. The programme was prepared to celebrate the contributions the Indian-Americans have made in the United States. About 50,000 Indian Americans attended the “Howdy Modi!” rally in Houston, where the crowd chanted “Modi! Modi! Modi!” as he took the stage. It was also attended by several politicians across the Democrats and Republican parties. Making a strong pitch against terrorism at the “Howdy, Modi” event in the presence of US President Donald Trump, who joined the mega event in a rare gesture of friendship, PM Modi asked the 50,000-strong crowd of Indian-Americans to give Mr Trump a standing ovation. In his address, President Trump said that both India and the US were investing in each other like never before. "India has never invested in the United States like it is doing today, and I want to say it is reciprocal because we are doing the same thing in India.” “PM Modi and I have come to celebrate everything India and America share. So happy to be with 50,000 hardworking Indian-Americans.
