US vindicates India`s stand on Kashmir |
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met United States President Donald Trump on the sidelines of G7 summit in France. He categorically rejected any scope for third party mediation between India and Pakistan on Kashmir, saying the two countries can discuss and resolve all issues bilaterally. Both leaders discussed various issues during the meeting. Talking to the media, PM Narendra Modi said that India has bilateral issues with Pakistan. He said that both the countries should fight jointly against poverty and work for the betterment of the people of both countries. President Trump said he agreed with PM Modi`s view that issues between India and Pakistan are bilateral in nature. The meeting is termed as very important as it was after President Trump`s meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan that the issue of Kashmir and mediation by the United States was raised last month. India has been maintaining its stand that any Kashmir related talks with Pakistan will only be bilateral and no third party intervention will be entertained. The Prime Minister returned home on Tuesday after completing a hectic trip to France, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
