BJP govt in 4 of 5 states |
The Bharatiya Janata Party has fared too well in the recently held assembly polls in India. The party has formed its government in the four out of five states. While the BJP has its governments in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand on its own and in Goa and Manipur with allies, the Congress has formed its government in Punjab by snatching it from the Shriman Akali Dal and BJP alliance. The BJP victory in India`s largest state of Uttar Pradesh is significant and has installed Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister with two deputy ministers. The Congress in Punjab has Captain Amrinder Singh as Chief Minister. In Uttarakhand, the BJP has Trivendra Singh Rawat as Chief Minister. In Goa, Manohar Parrikar has once again formed his government with the support of allies. In Manipur also, the BJP managed to form government with the help of allies under N. Biren Singh though the Congress had a majority.
