Common man in Delhi budget |
The common man will be counted in planning Delhi`s budget for 2015-16. Delhi`s new Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Admi Party has adopted the mantra of self rule. He unveiled an experiment for participatory governance by asking people for directions about spending on development plans in their areas. This will be part of a full-fledged budget in June. In a pilot project, people in 12 assembly constituencies will decide by vote about development works they want done in their areas. Public meetings for this will be scheduled on April 12. Rs 20 crores will be allotted to each constituency which will be divided into 40 segments. Each of these segments will have a voters meeting starting April 12. The next meeting will be held every subsequent Sunday. Voters will decide how to use the funds.
