Delhi restricts diesel vehicles |
Delhi has decided to improve its deteriorating air quality. The National Green Tribunal of India has prohibited diesel vehicles that are over 10 years old from the city. A five-member bench, headed by NGT chairperson Swatanter Kumar, said such vehicles would be phased out in Delhi, and those coming from other states would not be allowed to enter the city. The order follows a similar one passed by NGT in November 2014 that had banned all vehicles over 15 years old from plying in Delhi. However, the government failed to implement that order.
