Gujarat bent on anti-terror law |
The controversial Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organized Crime (Guj CTOC) Bill 2015 was passed by the State Assembly yet again on March 31 with majority votes amid a walkout by Congress. The modified version of the Bill, originally proposed by former Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, was returned thrice in past decade by the President of India for reconsideration. The Bill has retained almost all the controversial clauses. With Modi heading a majority government at the Centre, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel is confident of getting Presidential assent for the Bill.
