India deals with jihadi ideology |
India is gearing up to deal with the growing global concern at rise in fanaticism evident in the rising influence of `jihadi` ideology. India is not alone in worrying at attempts by outfits such as ISIS to propagate ideology among young Indian Muslims. India`s home ministry is taking steps, including borrowing from foreign models to curb radicalization. The ministry is trying to replicate the Austrian example of an "extremism counseling hotline". The ministry hopes that such counseling will enable parents, teachers and friends of vulnerable and indoctrinated youth to seek professional help. The Indian security establishment has started examining the best practices followed around the world, including the USA counter-radicalization program focused on community outreach and UK`s Prevent and Channel program.
