Jaitley questions UPA on price rise |
India`s finance minister Arun Jaitley on July 28 slammed UPA`s record on inflation as he responded to Rahul Gandhi`s charges on price rise and his jibe `Arhar Modi` directed at the Prime Minister. There was policy paralysis during the UPA regime and we inherited a double digit inflation from the previous government," Jaitley said in Lok Sabha responding to opposition`s attack on the issue of price rise. Stating that the present inflation was due to seasonal factors, Jaitley said the government had taken several steps to control prices of essential commodities. Inflation is under control, and hopefully will reduce further with good monsoon. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of rising prices, saying "the PM talks about everything but price rise".Not once did he talk about pulses, potatoes and tomatoes, Rahul said.
