Shirdi airport in October |
The Shirdi Airport is likely to be inaugurated in October for which chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maharashtra Airport Development Authority managing director Vishvas Patil said he visited Shirdi to supervise the progress of work at the airport, which is in its final stage.The process of getting permission from various departments is in the final stage. He said the tower for Air Traffic Control (ATC) has been installed and work on the terminal building has been completed till 250 metres. It will be finished by October with a height of 1,000 metres.Patil said modern machinery will be set up for security. He added that many devotees from various countries inquire about air services to visit the shrine. They will now be able reach Shirdi via flights from Mumbai and Delhi airports.
