8 top beauties led by Miss World 2017, Indian Manushi Chhillar, started the Epic Humanitarian World Tour from India on female hygiene and health. Addressing global media at the FCC on 6 February 2018, Miss World Founder Julia Morley explained the mission `Beauty With A Purpose`. Manushi, Miss World 2016 and the 6 Miss World 2017 Continental (Americas, Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania) explained their objective, lauding India`s big steps. 70% of Indian women rely on old rags, plastics, sand and ash to manage their menstrual cycles, that cause infections and chronic diseases including cancer. Miss World aligned with Aakar Innovation Founder Jaydeep Mandal, a pioneer making Asia`s first natural fiber made, biodegradable and 100% compostable sanitary napkins. Miss World toured Hyderabad, Kolkata, Siliguri, Delhi and Mumbai and met disadvantage women and young girls making Aakar`s pads. Government of India promised support in special interactions with Vice President of India, Honourable External Affairs Minister of India, hundreds of adolescent girls from New Delhi Municipal Council schools and by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) because Aakar trains unskilled and uneducated women creating sustainable livelihood. Aakar`s `Anandi Eco` pads is India`s 1st ~100% Compostable pads (2 patents) to be certified soon by the Government.
