India Africa Day Gala - 1 |
The India Africa Day Gala 2016 was celebrated to mark the Africa Day in India on 22nd April 2016 at the NDMC lawns adjacent to Nehru Park in the diplomatic enclave of New Delhi. The wonderful celebration followed a very successful and the biggest-ever India Africa Forum Summit III (IAFS III) in October 2015 in Delhi. India’s Honourable Minister of External Affairs Mrs. Sushma Swaraj acknowledged Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s deep commitment to India expanding the India-Africa relationship. A Special Message was also sent by India’s Minister of State for External Affairs Gen (Retd.) V K Singh.The event was co-hosted by the Association of Spouses of African Heads of Missions in Delhi (ASAHOM) and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). It was an amazing gathering of Africans and Indians, with scintillating efforts by women, children, diplomats, Indian Diaspora, artists, businesses, bureaucrats and more. Indian charities benefit from net proceeds of the event. ASAHOMis a diplomatic Organization of spouses of High Commissioners and Ambassadors of all 54 African nations, and draws full support of all African Heads of Missions.
