India stuns PIO youth |
Once again, India managed to wow overseas Indian youth who had never been their ancestral country. 39 college going students and young adults visited India June 9th through 30th, 2014, as part of the 28th Know India Program (KIP), organized 3 to 4 times a year by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs. This time the host state was Jammu & Kashmir, where the scenic beauty stole their breath and the state administration won a lot of praise. PIO youth from Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, the Netherlands, Israel, South Africa, Mauritius, Fiji, Myanmar, Malaysia and Sri Lanka wrapped up an amazing first-ever trip to India, yearning for more and admitting it became etched as a memory forever! PIO TV chronicles their raw reactions, ranging from what mother India means to them and what they discovered. It can be inferred that the Indian government has truly created a wonderful engagement with the youth Diaspora and created nearly 900 wonderful ambassadors over the years.
