PIO youth love Know India Program |
38 Youth from 8 countries that have Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) attended the 33rd Know India Program conducted by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs of the Government of India. The program was extremely successful yet again, and the youth from South Africa, Fiji, France, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Trindad & Tobago and Myanmar left India on July 19. In an exclusive interview with PIO TV on their experience of their ancestral land, these 18 to 25 year old boys and girls were unanimous in saying they loved India and would keep coming back. The Know India Program has conducted 32 previous visits by youth who are of Indian origin, not NRIs, and who have never before visited India. The 33rd KIP was an endorsement of the effort by the Government of India`s Ministry to create awareness about the phenomenal transformation taking place in India and the country`s progress from just a destination for culture, heritage and art to an emerging powerhouse in the global economic system. More than 1,000 youth have enjoyed their sojourn of India so far, and India has wonderfully created this youth brigade of perhaps the best Indian ambassadors globally.
