Air India makes operating profit, revenue up 14% in FY 25 |
India’s flag carrier Air India, now owned and run by the famous Tata Sons group, will declare operating profit after many years with its revenues surged 14% in FY 25. Reportedly, Air India credits the achievements to completing the merger with its profitable sister carrier Vistara, lower fuel costs, surge in passengers who believe in the airline’s operations. Now, Air India is taking on transformation programme. In 2024-25, Air India was used by 44 million passengers, up 10%. Revenue is up 14 % year on year and stands at ₹61,000 crore or US $ 7.14 billion in FY25. Air India CMD Campbell Wilson is quoted saying that the key thing left is to upgrade the legacy aircraft, more challenging than had been initially expected. Air India has placed an order for 570 new aircraft.
