India allows more time for Pakistan nationals to exit
India has graciously accepted the request of hundreds of Pakistani nationals and allowed them more time to leave India. After the Pahalgam, Kashmir, massacre of 26 Hindu Indians and a Nepalese, by Islamist terrorists, India’s Ministry of Home Affairs had given the deadline of all Pakistani nationals to leave India before 1 May 2025. Now Pakistani Nationals can exit from Attari border to reach Pakistan till further orders. India’s Ministry of Home Affairs has issued fresh orders. Pakistanis, especially women who married Indian men, and Indian Muslim women who have married Pakistanis, and their children, either visiting or living in India had appealed to the government of India. There were also requests from patients from Pakistan being treated in India. Pakistanis living in India can now continue to exit through Attari border till further orders. Meanwhile, following the Pahalgam incident, India and Pakistan seem to be at a wartime readiness. United Nations Secretary-General held telephone calls with Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Dr. S Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs of the Republic of India. A spokesman for UN Secretary General said the UN chief reiterated his strong condemnation of the 22 April terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The Secretary-General noted the importance of pursuing justice and accountability for these attacks through lawful means. The Secretary-General also expressed his deep concern at rising tensions between India and Pakistan and underscored the need to avoid a confrontation that could result in tragic consequences.
