India asks certain states to do mock drills for missile attacks |
Indian Government sources have quoted saying in reports that the Indian Ministry of Hone Affairs has asked several states to conduct mock drills for effective civil defence on 7th May.
While some may see this as early signs of a possible Indian military engagement with Pakistan, others say that India is hearing up for what should also be normal practice.
MHA has asked specific states that the following measures will be undertaken during mock drill.
1. Operationalization of Air Raid Warning Sirens
2. Training of civilians, students, etc, on the civil defence aspects to protect themselves in the event of a hostile attack.
3. Provision of crash black out measures
4. Provision for early camouflaging of vital plants / installations
5. Updation of evacuation plan & its rehearsal
Meanwhile, sources said the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, lower House of Indian Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, on 5th May 2025 visited the office of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. This is also seen as a sign of India gearing up for retaliatory acrion to Islamist terrorists specifically targeting and killing 26 Hindus in Pahalgam, Kashmir, two weeks ago.
