India`s `Operation Sindoor` finishes 9 terror camps in PoJK & Pak to avenge Pahalgam Hindu massacre
India launched the awaited “Operation Sindoor” in the early hours of 7th May 2025. India claims it precisely hit 9 targets in Pakistan with missiles and air strikes. Pakistan confirmed Indian strikes. The Indian Ministry of Defence said at 1.45 am IST on 7th May 2025 that India hit infrastructure in Pakistan “from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed”. India will hold press conferences by rhe civil government as well as rhe armed forces on 7th May 2025 morning Indian time. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” India said in a statement.
Indian Government sources told media that precision strike weapon systems of the three forces, the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, were used in the attacks. These included `loitering munitions` or suicide drones that are said to loiter over an area and strike at an optimal moment. India`s response comes after 15 days an attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam in India`s Kashmir, which killed 26 Hindus targeted by Islamist Muslims alleged backed by terrorists from Pakistan. The Pakistani government has denied any involvement and called for a “neutral” investigation into what happened.
The Pakistani military sources were quoted in several media reports that Pakistan was responding befittingly at several locations across the Line of Control and across the border. Pakistan military told media fighter jets from both sides were up in the air. `Operation Sindoor` was evident after Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned of response following the Pahalgam massacre. Modi has held several high-level security meetings with his security members of his Cabinet, defence secretary and with the air force and navy chiefs. The missile attack occurred shortly before several Indian states in the north and west of the country were set to hold civil defence drills on 7th May 2025. Civilians were given clear signals to be prepared in the event of a `hostile attack` on India. This is the first time masses were told to drill and administration geared up across India.
