India to build fifth generation stealth fighter jet
Following the brief conflict with Pakistan, India’s state-run Aeronautical Development Agency has been sanctioned the development of a fifth generation stealth fighter jet. India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved the project, said the Ministry of Defence. The Indian decision is set against the backdrop of China’s sixth-generation aircraft — the J-36 — and the fact that China has been helping Pakistan enhance air defense and offence capability. The Indian Aeronautical Development Agency will also invite private defence firms, sate corporations and may also allow consortiums to bid to develop a prototype of the proposed twin-engine fifth-generation warplane. China is reportedly speeding up and beefing delivery of stealth aircraft to Pakistan.
