India to host World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit |
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced India will host the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) for the first time in February 2025. This places India in the top spot as an entertainment hub. The summit between 5th and 9th February 2025 will bring together media and entertainment leaders, as well as creative minds from across the globe, to discuss collaboration, innovation, and India’s growing influence in global content creation. Modi shared the exciting news during his monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat. Modi said the summit is a big and bold step in positioning India as a global hub for creative and content industries. Modi said the importance of the WAVES Summit should also be seen in the economic context, noting as the country inches becoming a five trillion dollar economy. Modi highlighted the role of India’s youth in shaping the future of creative industries.
