Jewar airport in UP state of India to start regular operations from April |
India will boast of Asia’s largest airport in Jewar, Greater NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh state, and will start operations in April 2025. The Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu told the upper house of Indian Parliament that Jewar airport in the Delhi area will ease the burden at the only airport in the Indian capital and will also improve connectivity across the world. India conducted a validation flight in December 2024 at the Jewar airport. The Minister said all airlines including Air India and Indigo are very excited to improve connectivity from the Noida airport. Responding to other supplementaries, the minister said the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme has been a revolutionary scheme and it will be extended for ten more years. The Minister also said the Indian government is working on adding another 100 airports across the country.
