Modi says proud of MPs, diplomats on global outreach after Operation Sindoor
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he is proud of India`s Members of Parliament and former diplomats who led a massive and bipartisan global outreach following Operation Sindoor. Modi praised the 59 members of 7 delegations at his official residence in New Delhi on 10 June 2025. He complimented delegation leaders and members for completing a marathon and whirlwind tour of 33 countries including the European Union headquarters in Brussels in less than three weeks. It was an unparalleled nationalistic effort where otherwise the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) don`t see eye to eye with Indian National Congress led INDI Alliance. But all political parties came together with some accomplished former top diplomats who put forth India`s stance on Operation Sindoor as not one to wage war with Pakistan but against terrorism unfortunately housed and sponsored by India`s neighbour. No country in recent memory has mounted such a global effort. Modi and top BJP leaders and officials, even among Opposition parties, global think tanks and global leaders have found the effort satisfying and successful.
Modi made sure he particularly applauded Congress leader Shashi Tharoor who toured Americas, JD(U)`s Sanjay Jha,
BJP`s Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijyant Panda, Shiv Sena`s Shrikant Shinde, DMK`s Kanimozhi, and NCP (SP)`s Supriya Sule who led the seven delegations. They all agreed it was master stroke to quickly convey India`s policy on zero tolerance for terrorism. Prime Minister Modi tweeted on X quote “Met members of the various delegations who represented India in different countries and elaborated on India`s commitment to peace and the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism. We are all proud of the manner in which they put forward India`s voice” end quote. Before meeting Modi, India`s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar had met delegations after their return to India.
