New Google tools to support India hospitality industry |
The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact several economic activities. Travel and hospitality industry is one of the hardest hit during temporary, full lockdowns and public`s apprehension to travel. As the world rises from emotional trauma of the pandemic, one witnesses growth in domestic travel and this is bound to surge as people avoid international travel. Possibilities of vaccine has built up hope. A sizeable Indian middle class and their demand for domestic rest and recreation is bound to cause steady recovery in domestic tourism. Tech giant Google has thrown its hat into the ring of opportunity by launching specific tools that Google is good at making and offering. The new Travel Insight tool will help track specific target audience for trends to help market travel and hospitality. The Insight tools can be used by a chain of hotels, a small travel start-up, or a booking agent to check recent trends. For example, a company can act by understanding the inclination of travellers to visit certain places compared to before. Similarly, it will provide insight into the audience demand for certain types of destinations, resorts, hotels, cuisines etc. The first part helps understand the Destination that travellers are most interested in. Initial focus in domestic, but tool in not limited to one country. This will help clients like airlines and travel agents map out specific routes and help narrow the sample size for potential travellers. The second part shows hotels of all shapes and sizes, especially small and independent hotels. The tool can show year-over-year change of a hotel.
