Pak army crosses LoC and fires, India retaliates |
Reports confirmed by Indian officials said Pakistan Army violated ceasefire agreement, crossed Line of Control in India`s Jammu and Kashmir`s Poonch district on 1 April 2025 afternoon. Pakistani troops are said to have opened fire at Indians posts but Indian troops gave a befitting response that was controlled and calibrated, said Indian officials. Indian Army said the situation was under control and being closely monitored. The Nangi Tekri Battalion of an Indian Army retaliated decisively to the unprovoked attack, an Indian Army official reportedly said. Indian response is said to be calibrated per the understanding of 2021 to maintain peace along the Line of Control. It is said to be a rare incident since the ceasefire agreement of February 25, 2021. Tensions have been high in the Kathua are of Kashmir following an exchange of fire with terrorists on 31 March 2025.
