India and the US have announced the first-ever India visit of the new Vice President of the United States of America from 21st through 24th April 2025. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said H.E. Mr. J.D. Vance will be on an Official Visit to India accompanied by his wife, the US Second Lady, Mrs. Usha Vance, their children. Notably, Mrs. Vance is of Indian origin. Vance’s entourage will also have senior members of the U.S. Administration. Vance will meet with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 21 April 2025. The US Vice President and his delegation will have other engagements in Delhi and are also scheduled to visit Jaipur and Agra before departing for Washington, D.C. on 24 April 2025. Vance visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit in February 2025 to USA, immediately following the inauguration of second term of US President Donald Trump. For the new Trump Administration, the visit affords an opportunity to review the progress in bilateral relations and the implementation of the outcomes of the India-U.S. Joint Statement issued on 13 February 2025 during Modi’s visit to USA. As expected, both sides will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.
