US military plane brings 100 + Indian deportees to Amritsar |
A US military aircraft brought over 100 illegal immigrants back to Amritsar city in Punjab state of India, including 25 women and 12 minors. The plane landed on 5 February 2025, brining back deportees the belong to the states of Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal o said on 4 February that he was disappointed with the US government’s decision and said these individuals, who contributed to that country’s economy, should have been granted permanent residency instead of being deported.
