Movie Review of Thackeray and Manikarnika
Two of the much awaited films of the year Thackeray and Manikarnika hit the silver screens today. The much awaited film on the iconic Indian politician, Balasaheb Thackeray titled - Thackeray released on Friday. The versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and elegant Amrita Rao starrer film has received good reviews from critics and audience alike. The producers also saw the movie with the audiences in Mumbai. Nawazuddin`s performance has been lauded by one and all and is rated as one of the best in his career and his performance has taken over the film which has some flaws in the script and could have been tighter. Thackeray clashed on the box office with Kangana Ranuat starrer Manikarnika. The film is about the warrior queen of Jhansi - Rani Laxmibai, who was arguably India`s most popular woman freedom fighter. Kangana plays the role of Rani Laxmibai in the film which is also her directorial debut. The cinematography and action choreography are breathtaking. The music of the film is refreshing. The downpoint comes in the second half where the script is weak and too slow paced. Overall Thackeray can be seen for the nonchalant performance of the lead cast and Manikarnika for the feeling of patriotism on the occasion of Republic Day.
