Bollywood is ready for another potential blockbuster. The trailer of the film `Bell Bottom` starring Akshay Kumar was released on 3rd August. `Bell Bottom` is an espionage thriller set in 1984. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 19th August. In the trailer, Akshay is seen as an undercover RAW agent with code name – Bell Bottom, who must head a covert operation to rescue over 200 hostages by neutralizing four hijackers, in an attempt which is the seventh in the past five years. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi assists his team in the mission while Vaani Kapoor plays the character of his wife. Akshay is positioned as a multitalented operative who must save the day. Actor Adil Hussain introduces Akshay as, `Married, with a sharp memory, national-level chess player, teaches music, can speak and write in Hindi, English, German, and French.` A plane has been hijacked and grounded in Amritsar. With the remaining fuel, they can only go to three destinations: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat. The trailer shows a high-stakes operation with twists and turns, evident from Akshay`s dialogue, `Just remember, it`s not over till it`s over.` Directed by Ranjit Tewari, `Bell Bottom` was scheduled to release in April but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta, Denzil Smith, Aniruddh Dave, Adil Hussain, and Thalaivasal Vijay.
