Director Vipul Mehta has released the trailer of his upcoming film `Kanjoos Makhichoos` that stars Kunal Kemmu and Shweta Tripathi in the lead roles. `Kanjoos Makhichoos` is the story of Jamnaprasad Pandey played by Kunal Khemu who is infamous in the entire town of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh as a miser. His parents, Gangaprasad Pandey (Piyush Mishra) and Saraswati Pandey (Alka Amin), wife Madhuri (Shweta Tripathi) and son Krish, are fed up with Jamna`s penny-pinching habits. However, little does the family know that Jamna has been saving up to fulfil his father`s long standing wish of going on a char-dham yatra. But destiny plays tricks and due to heavy rains and flooding, the contact between the family breaks while on the char dham yatra. Upset that he has been cheated even for compensation money, Jamna decides to fight back against an illicit system. But, can a powerless, undermined middle-class person win against a powerful, corrupt system? Written and directed by Vipul Mehta, the comedy drama also stars Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, Rajiv Gupta and the late Raju Srivastav in pivotal roles. The direct to digital film will premiere on ZEE5 on 24th March 2023.
