Uri stirkes big at the box office
Even the mighty cannot deter the patriotic. This is what the box office has showed as URI: the surgical strike is still running strong even after the release of big ticket releases, Thackeray and Manikarnika on January 25. The Vicky Kaushal starrer film is in its 3rd week and has collected a staggering total of USD 22.6 billion. The film is already a hit and continues to lure audiences to the theatres. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the phrase `how`s the josh` from the film in one of his speech during the inauguration of National Museum for Indian Cinema. The film based on the surgical strikes at terror launch pads across the LoC, carried out by Indian army as retaliation to attack on India`s army base Uri in 2016. The film is a directorial debut for Aditya Dhar and also stars Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari and Rajit Kapur. The film hit the theatres on January 11, alongside the Accidental Prime Minister and has been doing good business at the box office.
