Anushka tribute to Geeta
Bollywood is now remaking the great old melodies. `Jata Kaha Hai Deewane` sung by Geeta Dutt and filmed on yesteryear star Waheeda Rahman in director Raj Khosla`s 1956 film `CID` has been redone in Anurag Kashyap`s `Bombay Velvet` and has been titled `Fifi`. Sung by Suman Sridhar, one half of the indie duo Sridhar/Thayil, the track has been recreated by Mikey McCleary. The singer adds some of her personal jazz and cabaret touch. Suman has earlier brought her edgy yet vintage charm to numbers like `Muskaane in Jhooti Hai` from `Talaash` and `Hawa Hawai` in `Shaitan`. Anushka Sharma performs in an `opium bar` as said by Kashyap. Anushka`s performance in the video as Rosie Noronha is a little sketchy at the moment as it is crowded with montages of the scenes from the film. But overall this tribute to the `CID` song surely adds to the`60s era charm of the film.
