Bollywood star Akshay Kumar`s `Airlift` is a high-voltage period drama that brings to the screen the untold story of the Yemen crisis and the world`s largest human evacuation ever. Presently in Yemen, the government of India (as a part of Operation Raahat) has managed to evacuate an estimated 4,000 Indians safely from the war-torn zone. The base story is derived from a series of events that took place in 1990 when 170,000 Indians were brought home from Kuwait in the largest and most successful evacuation ever attempted by any country in world history! In 59 days, the Indian government systematically flew more than 488 Air India commercial flights into a war zone to evacuate Indian people. T-Series has turned prophetic for a similar such situation even before its release. Co-producer Nikhil Advani said `Airlift` would release on January 22, 2016. The film has just completed its second schedule in Ras al-Khaimah. The film starring Nimrat Kaur is being directed by Raja Krishna Menon and co-produced by Emmay Entertainment, Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment.
