Bollywood is delivering a modern Gen Z love story, ‘Chand Mera Dil'. It’s a story full of conflicts between lovers who also fight for respect for their relationship. Starring a rising starlet, Ananya Panday, with Lakshya across from her, ‘Chand Mera Dil’ fights for recognising their love despite all the inherent problems of their love. 

Critics say the story is a symbol of what goes on in modern relationships. The lovebirds strike the right chord, but with the ups and downs.

The two young lovers, Chandni and Aarav, fight for each other and also fight for respect in their relationship. Everyone is highlighting the dialogue in the film, quote, “Legendary love stories ki ending tragic hoti hai” end quote. 

Ananya Panday and Lakshya are a couple dealing with the intense and volatile nature of modern love. In the Hindi language, that feeling is labelled 'Ishq', which means more than the mere word ‘love’ in the English language. This story is about youngsters who may be vulnerable in their feelings and expressions yet conscious that they want dignity and respect. Ananya says, quote, “Izzat Pyaar Se Badi Hoti Hai!” end quote. 

One must credit Ananya for picking the right roles in the right films. She has the attitude and aptitude of a star in the making. Lakshya is a boyish romantic. They gel well, look good and deliver good on-screen chemistry. 

‘Chand Mera Dil’ is directed by Vivek Soni, who has worked hard to represent Gen Z in this refreshing and intense romance story. 

The film is backed by Dharma Productions and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke deSouza. ‘Chand Mera Dil’ releases theatrically on 22nd May 2026.
