The controversial film `Udta Punjab` is all set to hit theatre screen on Friday June 17, 2016,  with Bombay and Punjab & Haryana High Courts coming to the conclusion that the film neither  projected  Punjab in bad light nor did it  glorify drug addiction as alleged by NGOs and political leaders.Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor-starrer film, produced by Anurag Kashyap led Fantom Films got approval from both the High Courts. Earlier,  Supreme Court`s bench of Justices Adarsh K Goel and L Nageswara Rao asked the petitioner to wait for the  outcome of the HC proceeings and allowed it to move the apex court against if it was aggrieved by HC`s order. The Punjab and Haryana  High Courts  passed the order on the basis of a report by the amicus curie who viewed the movie.
