Gandhi Talks Silent Film Releases on 30 January 2026
‘Gandhi Talks’ is a rare silent film in contemporary cinema. Producers Zee Studios said the film releases in cinemas on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 30th January 2026.
The film is billed as a rare but bold step with silence blended with tremendous screenplay, performance with expressions, and cinematography. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Siddharth Jadhav, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
At a time when cinema is often defined by scale and sound, Gandhi Talks chooses restraint, emotion, and stillness to communicate its message.
‘Gandhi Talks’ benefits from and resonates with emotional music by Oscar-winning A. R. Rahman. Without dialogue, Rahman’s score acts as a powerful and immersive narrator, guiding the audience through the film’s emotional landscape.
Director Kishore Belekar says, “Gandhi Talks is a film about trusting silence. As Indian cinema marks over a century of storytelling, we wanted to return to the medium’s most elemental form: pure performance and emotion. The actors embraced that vulnerability completely, and A.R. Rahman’s score became the film’s voice” (end quote).
