KABALI downloads stayed
The Madras high court has restrained 169 registered Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in India from permitting illegal downloads of Rajinikanth-starrer `Kabali,` which is slated for worldwide release on July 22. The court put the onus of preventing illegal downloads of the movie on the ISPs.An interim order to this effect was passed by Justice N Kirubakaran, on a writ petition filed by the movie`s producer, S Thanu. The judge also restrained multi-system operators (MSOs) from allowing unlawful telecast of the film by cable operators registered with them.On Thursday, Thanu`s senior counsel Vijay Narayan argued for a direction to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) not to permit the ISPs registered with it from permitting rogue websites to illegally downloads the film.
