Kamal Haasan film stalled
Bollywood director-actor-producer Kamal Haasan`s latest film `Uttama Villain` did not release on the May 1 due to a money wrangle between the makers and its financiers. The film has piqued curiosity of viewers. But, the two parties were engaged in negotiation all day. Reports said more than a million tickets had been sold in advance at cinemas across the country. The film that was made in Tamil and dubbed in Telugu was to open in 400 screens across the state and 1,500 screens worldwide, with expected returns of about Rs 100 million from domestic collections and another Rs 50 million overseas. On April 30th, it seemed that the issue was sorted out. A civil suit in the Madras high court threatened its release. Producers had taken Rs 20 million for making the film. Producers returned the money. But, it seems a final settlement didn`t happen.
