Nayanthara returns in a new avatar as Mookuthi Amman in 'Mahasakthi', with a new teaser released. Mookuthi Amman's character was first introduced in the 2020 film that became a hit. ‘Mahasakthi’ is directed by Sundar C and produced by Dr Ishari K. Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner, in association with Avni Media, IVY Entertainment, and Rowdy Pictures.

The teaser hints at a mystery and is full of larger-than-life sequences. The film cast includes Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu and Oorvasi. Without revealing the latest plot, the teaser essentially reprises the Nayanthara character. The character is clearly the centre of the plot and therefore the key highlight of the sequel. 

‘Mahasakthi’ release is scheduled for November 2026 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. AA Films will handle the film’s distribution across North India.
