NANAK SHAH FAKIR withdrawn

Bollywood is facing the challenge of evolution in a dynamically changing world with social pressures. Filmmaker Harinder Sikka on April 21 decided to withdraw the film `Nanak Shah Fakir` from theatres in India as well as abroad, despite the good response the Guru Nanak biopic has received since its release on April 17. The movie has been in the eye of a storm for allegedly violating Sikh tenets by portraying Guru Nanak in a `human` form. Sikka said the film would be re-released within a month after making changes. The biggest protest came from the Akal Takht and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
