Producer accepts 51 cuts
KK Mundhada of Hari Kripa Films, who has produced `Babuji Ek Ticket Bambai`, is an exception in the industry inasmuch as he has agreed to release his upcoming movie even with 51 cuts. `Babuji Ek Ticket Bambai` revolves around commercial sex workers and passive euthanasia associated with the trade. Although words used in common parlance have been muted, yet he abides by the Censor Board`s recommendations. Mundhada has heaved a sigh of relief that the censor has allowed the use of the word Bambai in the title . Significantly, Rajpal Yadav`s character in the film is totally different from his earlier comic role. The actor attributes this to the growing competition from television and web. Thus, filmmakers go overboard in their enthusiasm to show things. However, freedom of expression as enshrined in the Indian Constitution does curtail obscenity and prohibits anyone from challenging the social or moral fibre of the country.Sudha Chandran, who also features in the film, accepts that the censorship by prior restraint is not only desirable but also necessary. However, the certification of A, U/A or U has large financial implications for the producers.
