National Award winning filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming period drama “Rangoon” is all set to release on February 24 , 2017.The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan.  Incidentally,  25th February  is the birthday of Shahid.  The movie is set in the 1940s amidst the turmoil of India’s independence struggle . Bhardwaj says  the  film is closest to his  heart and should be seen as his best work.The “Maqbool” helmer says for him and Saif “Rangoon” is “even more” special since it has been ten years since “Omkara”.
