Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan has said that her husband and actor Saif Ali Khan would give back the Padma Shri award bestowed upon him by the government of India. Apparently, An RTI application had revealed in August 2014 that the government was examining a demand for taking back the Padma Shri conferred on Khan in the wake of a Mumbai court framing charges against him. It is alleged that Khan had punched on the nose of a South Africa-based businessman and his father-in-law at a Colaba hotel in February 2012. Kareena said it is presumed that being a national honor the authorities would have obviously checked on the issue before giving award. She said Saif will be okay to give back the award. The Home Ministry had replied that the matter was under examination.
