The Kerala Story 2 Trailer Depicts Allegations Of Coercion, Sparks Debate

The second instalment of the Kerala Story franchise, ‘The Kerala Story 2’ trailer, has been released. This film pushes the boundaries, showing Hindu girls under coercion and torture by Muslim husbands and their families. The film releases in cinemas on 27th February 2026. It is bound to draw strong emotions from all sides.

‘The Kerala Story’, originally released in 2023, has a sequel that is more hard-hitting. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has released a chilling trailer that delves into the lives of three Hindu girls who are betrayed and coerced into religious conversion by their Muslim boyfriends.

The Kerala Story 2’ warns at the very start of the trailer that India could be transformed into an Islamic state governed by Sharia law in the next 25 years. One of the stories excerpted into the trailer is a Rajasthan family at a police station to lodge a POCSO complaint of religious conversion by coercion of their 16-year-old daughter. The other excerpt is from Madhya Pradesh of a young Hindu woman manipulated into marriage only to be converted. The third one is from Kerala, where a Muslim man proposes a live-in relationship to his Hindu girlfriend, who denies religious conversion, only to be forced to eat beef and held captive by him and his family. The trailer shows torture of two girls after the forced conversion and how families fight to bring their daughters home.

Releasing the trailer, producers wrote, quote, “They targeted our daughters. They broke their trust. They stole their futures. This time, we do not stay silent. The story goes beyond. Is baar sahenge nahi... ladenge. #TheKeralaStory2GoesBeyond trailer is out now. In cinemas on 27th February, 2026."

Anxious fans are responding on social media and online to the trailer, saying the trailer gave them goosebumps! Some criticise the film as propaganda.

‘The Kerala Story 2’ is directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh. The three girls are played by Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha. The film is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and co-produced by Aashin A Shah under the banner Sunshine Pictures.
