India outraged at Pak Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto remarks during SCO meet |
India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar expressed outrage at Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s remarks during and outside the meeting of foreign minister of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Goa, India, 4th and 5th of May 2023. Responding to a volley of questions from Indian, Pakistani and foreign media after the meeting of Council of SCO foreign ministers, Jaishankar seemed to make it clear on 5th May 2023 that India would not entertain either resumption of diplomatic ties or bilateral discussions with Pakistan. The Indian Minister minced no words in lashing out at Bilawal, and Pakistan, due to remarks made by the Pakistan Minister during the SCO summit and outside while talking to media. India made it clear that Bilawal came because he decided to attend a meeting of SCO, but there was no intention of entertaining him or the Pakistan government’s thinking. All issues raised by Bilawal were dismissed by Jaishankar. Jaishankar was strong and direct in response to persistent questions from the media on Pakistan’s stance on G-20 summit in Kashmir, weaponising terrorism and India establishing Jammu & Kashmir as a Union Territory and abrogating Article 370. Jaishankar said India will be unrelenting in fighting terrorism from Pakistan and not accept terrorism, period.
