Delhi enforces anti-terror measures for Republic Day |
Ahead of Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26, the Delhi Police has intensified anti-terror measures in the national capital. Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said that anti-terror monitoring has been intensified after receiving intel inputs of a possible terror attack. The Police Commissioner said that for the past two months, the Delhi Police have been taking intensified anti-terror measures in the national capital. He listed the anti-terror measures taken under 26 parameters which include, intensified vehicle checking, checking of lodges, and tenant, servant, labourer verification. Also, a total of 27,723 personnel has been deployed including, 71 DCPs, 213 ACPs, 753 Inspectors, and Delhi Police Commanders. At least 65 companies of CAPF will coordinate with these forces. Notably, Delhi is currently under heavy security cover after the intelligence agencies received inputs of a possible terror attack in the city in wake of the Republic day.
