Digital Health ID for every Indian citizen |
In a historic initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Pradhan Mantri National Digital Health Mission (PM-NDHM) via video conferencing on 27th September 2021. India`s focus is to scale up healthcare infrastructure and services across the country. The Mission will create a smooth online health ecosystem by providing a range of data, infrastructure and information services on a common platform where every citizen can securely upload and access their health records. It will enable the long term exchange of health records between patients and doctors with the former`s consent. The key component of PM-NDHM is a unique health ID for every citizen. created by entering details of the Aadhar card and registered mobile number. This will also act as a health account to which all reports, prescriptions and diagnosis records can be linked. These can then be accessed or viewed via a mobile phone application – a Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Healthcare Facilities Registries (HFR). It will act as a bank of listed healthcare providers of modern and traditional medicine across doctors and hospitals.
